My Students

My school is in a progressively growing community, with a total enrollment of Pre-K through fifth graders of over 700 students.

The town population is approximately 81,881, with 17 elementary schools in the district. The diversity at our school comes from the economic levels with approximately 45% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunches. I teach in a self-contained fourth-grade class. I have twenty-eight students from diverse backgrounds.

My Project

This year we have jumped in with the adventure of Tinkering alongside Genius Hour! Google has long encouraged it employees to devote 20% of their time to side projects, which is one reason it is one of the most innovative companies in the world. We are super excited to follow this economic model and set these projects in motion.

My students are in a great need of supplies to help their dreams come to life!

We also need a place to store all the community supplies. This storage cart will be shared between 4 classes and will hold all the glue, rubber bands, feathers, beads, pipe cleaners, card board and anything else their hearts desire to complete their project.
