My Students

My students are all Athabaskan Natives, living in the small village of Northway which is about a 35 miles from the Canadian border. This is a low-income area and finding funding to start new and interesting activities can be difficult.

There is a whole new world out there that these students have not been often provided with a vision of what they can see and experience.

They live in one of the most beautiful areas of the world, backed up to the Rangel-St. Elias National Park. Assisting these young men and women to better the quality of their education will be pivotal in directing the path that their lives take.

My Project

These Tinkering tools help students explore their world and build curiosity about their world. My student love to tinker, play, and explore the physical world. These robot, bridge building, and hydro dynamic kits help students to become more engaged in their own learning.

These gravity and solar powered kits help students have a better grasp of important parts to their physical world.

Today’s kids need more than reading and seeing to learn. Kids need a way to handle learning. Some projects just need to be felt. Learning how to make a mistake and not let it stop them is so important. The ability to learn from errors is a skill that I would like to build.
