Tinker With Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM/STEM)
Help me give my students experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEM or STEAM). Students get to tinker with wood sticks, glue, and other odds and ends. Even LED bracelet DIY materials (Circuits and more)!
Success comes from ambition in play and hard work. Our students are kind, caring, big-hearted, creative, outside of the box thinkers! They learn how to succeed with limited resources and this outside of the box thinking. Our students are willing to try new things and choose to create and innovate!
The school's philosophy is to seek ways to be the best school in the area, not merely to educate young people for productive employment, but to inspire them to become life long thinkers, problem solvers, and contributors.
The Board believes spending money on education is an investment that reaps not only the immediate benefits of increased student numbers and community support, but that also ensures today’s students will become tomorrow’s thoughtful and creative entrepreneurs, civic leaders and environmental stewards. While neighboring districts have cut programs and options, our school has responded to growing student interests and needs by expanding its before-after school and summer school programs, increasing its financial commitment to Youth Options, and broadening its use of other distance and virtual learning options.
Community and school staff members agree that holding high expectations for achievement and providing choices to learners are keys to building a successful educational
My Project
Tinkering is an important part to the Engineering and Design process. This project will help build my Makerspace and help give students access to the problem that is part of that process.
When students can become problem solvers and thinkers, they are building skills that they will use throughout their lifetimes.
Some of the materials requested are simply tinkering materials. The wood sticks, glue, and other similar items will help them have access to putting their materials to go. The circuits, batteries and a conductive string is for a specific circuit project, LED bracelets.
I'm really excited to get my students thinking and tinkering!
