My students need activities such as marble runs, tinker toys, and gears to help them boost their creativity and problem solving skills while learning to collaborate.
I teach in a Title-I school in which there is a high percentage of students on free or reduced lunch. We are teaching them to be problem solvers and leaders in our community. We follow the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids to give every child the opportunity to be successful as they become adults.
My students love to learn.
I love to watch them create and discover and problem solve. Students might only have the opportunity at school to use materials such as these. They deserve the opportunity to be creative and use their imaginations. Thank you for helping them.
My Project
Students will use Tinker Toys, Marble Runs, Gears, Play doh, and the Create a Maze to participate in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) related activities. Students will be working in an environment that allows flexibility and creativity while promoting problem solving skills. They will build, construct, imagine, design, problem solve, collaborate, and create during a Maker Space time.
These materials will allow my students the opportunity to use their imagination and creativity while supporting STEM/STEAM activities by sorting, grouping, counting, designing, constructing and putting physics into play.
It will also boost fine motor skills while promoting reasoning and problem solving as children create.
