My students need the World Scratch off Map and the Ancient Civilizations materials to fully engage with history on a hands on level.

My Students

I teach "tweens", LOL! Get the text talk ready cuz here they come!

My students are special just because they are themselves!

Each one is unique in strengths and needs. We have about 60% African American students, 20% Caucasian, and 20% considered other.

I teach middle school at the 6th grade level. We have about 20% of that population that is special needs and about the same amount of gifted students. We are a reflection of the diversity we see in our global community.

My Project

My student are ready to time travel back to the Stone Age and through World History up to the Age of Exploration! These materials, like Readers Theaters, Simulation Books and Independent Learning Centers will improve my teaching and my students learning by supporting Literacy skills and providing Hands on experiences with ancient civilizations and peoples from around the world. Do you remember when you were in school and social studies was a boring read the text book and regurgitate facts? Well that is definitely NOT Mrs. Sheard's World History Class! Using these materials will excite and engage all my little learners and hopefully inspire them to do a little traveling in our own time!
