Time to Transition

Help me give my students some fun classroom management and organization tools! We are excited to get some new timers, transition chimes, light filters, and storage containers!

My Students

I believe creating a safe, comfortable, and open ended learning environment is key to the success of all children. I work very hard each day to reach the needs of my students. Most of my students come from low to middle income homes and with cuts to funding there is not money in our budgets for anything outside of basic supplies.

My students are all unique, talented, and have multifaceted interests and abilities.

Students today need choice, including the ability to choose their own learning path to some degree. No two students are the same, nor do I expect them to be excited about the same learning opportunities at all times. I do believe all will benefit from exploration and variety and I am excited to see their increased participation and growth in their lifelong learning journeys. Students will be more attentive when given the choice to engage in learning activities through multiple opportunities and avenues.

My Project

These tools will impact my students' learning in so many ways. When we give students the responsibility of taking ownership of their learning, they strive to reach the bar we have set.

Tools such as timers, chimes, calming devices, and more will benefit students by giving them an even more tranquil environment in which they can be successful on their own.

I am excited to show my students the new timers we will get so they can use them to time themselves and/or partners during Words Their Way, Read To Self, Sight Word Work, Math Flashcards, and so much more. The chime doorbell will help us to transition in a calm, productive manner. Overall, these tools will all help to create a more relaxing, efficient, and well managed classroom for my students this year and in the years to come.
