This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students face the daily challenge of getting to school on an empty stomach. As a result, the materials necessary to become successful in school often lack and are not a concern to them. Supplies are not on a students' mind if they have so many other, more urgent topics on their minds. In addition, there is a lack of resources in our schools and educators often find themselves picking up the tab.
It is for this reason that I seek these items to ensure that my students are provided with the snacks and supplies to continue to push through.
Because the resources are just not there, I am forced to buy items to keep us safe/clean and provide snacks on my own and this task has proven to weigh heavily on me financially.
