We are using the Sentence Building sets to help my high school students, like those navigating Gestalt Language Processing, move from simple phrases to complex, multi-clause sentences. The laminating sheets have been a lifesaver. They have allowed me to create durable, custom visual schedules and social stories for my students undergoing medical transitions, such as upcoming surgeries, ensuring they have a way to advocate for their needs when they are in \"survival mode.\" Even the Bulletin Board materials have made a difference, creating a neuro-affirming space where my students feel that their unique ways of communicating are celebrated the moment they walk through the door. The reaction was excitement and immediate curiosity. For many of my students who face daily challenges with traditional academic tasks, seeing \"new and updated therapeutic games\" made speech therapy feel less like a correction and more like a high-interest challenge. When we opened the Treasure Chest, one of my students immediately engaged, using his AAC device to comment \"Look!\" and with a level of spontaneity we haven't seen in awhile. Seeing their faces light up reminded me that when we provide high-quality materials we are boosting their confidence. Our next steps are focused on functional independence. We are using these kits to practice grocery store scripts and helping my older students learn to repair communication breakdowns with peers. With the Word Flips and sentence-building tools, we are working toward the complex grammar stage, where my students won't just be responding to questions, but leading the conversations. Your support has given us the resources to move into authentic communication.","fullyFundedDate":1703998793468,"projectUrl":"project/speech-language-pathology-super-students/8018873/","projectTitle":"Speech-Language Pathology Super Students!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Elzen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8718259_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y134&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1663787201511","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-elzen"},{"teacherId":8839938,"projectId":9664523,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding the project, \"Hanging With the Stars.\" Thanks to you, we have a bunch of different posters to decorate the theater room so it is not seen as a storage closet.
