My Students
I am an intervention specialist in an inclusion classroom. My students are identified with a range of disabilities including autism, specific learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional disorders, and other health impairments. We also have an English Language Learner and several at-risk students. Additionally, we have typical and several advanced learners.
While most of the students come from economically disadvantaged homes, they are eager learners. Many of our students cannot afford basic school supplies. Sixty-eight percent of our school is on free and reduced-price lunch.
My Project
As we approach the mid year point in the school year, our pencils have been sharpened to nubs, our glue sticks are dried up, our wipe off mats are worn out from repeated use, and we have squeezed the last of the ink from our expo markers. We need pencils, wipe off mats, markers and more to help us learn.
While some families are able to buy supplies for our classroom, many families can not. These supplies are expensive and we find it very hard to ask our struggling families to replenish our classroom supplies.
My students are working hard to learn. Please consider helping us to do a mid year restocking of all the things we need to continue learning the rest of this year.
