Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My project is to obtain multicultural supplies (books, coloring books, pencils, crayons and affirmation prompt cards, band aids as well as resources) for all students and teachers, to be able to use within the SEL classroom.

Our students will greatly benefit from having multicultural skin tone crayons, pencils in a variety of skin colors to help them draw pictures that look like themselves and which represent their community.

We all look different in this world - diversity is what makes us special and unique! However, it is challenging when we don't have the correct colors in the crayon box to reflect this! It is important for us as educators to provide our students the resources to help their creative abilities shine through! These resources will help students see themselves represented in the images. The developmentally/grade appropriate diversity/inclusion prompt cards help students and encourage group conversations and writing projects about: knowing ourselves.
