Students come to school excited to see their friends and they are eager to learn many new things. Our school year is off to a great start!
As teachers, it's so important to teach and model for our students how to love, work, learn and live in a diverse world and also to be able to provide them with wonderful learning experiences.
We, as educators, work hard to make sure that each and every student feels safe, loved, important, and welcomed! My students go to school in a wonderful community! Being at school is the only positive that some of my students have each day.
Our school is a Title I school. That means that we have a majority of students coming from a low economic background. A lot of my students are not able to experience any form of technology at home. My students come to school with big smiles on their faces! I feel that school is the place to help them learn to become adults in the working field one day but to also encourage their own dreaming and creativity.
My Project
These materials will help my students by being able to have access to trade books that are about mathematical topics. In third grade, we learn all kinds of new and exciting topics, but we especially learn a lot of neat and interesting methods, in mathematics.
Having a trade book that tells a story about a mathematical topic, will give my students a better explanation of the particular topic.
All students learn differently and at their own pace. Having books that have illustrations and examples of various math topics, will be beneficial to all of my students. As a teacher, I will be able to share the stories with my students and then allow them to read the books, at their own pace.
