This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher and inspiration to a diverse population of students. My students enter school between the ages of 4 and 5. They are from countries from all over the world, many are from war-torn nations. We have a large English Language Learners population and many students with special needs.

School is not just a place where these children come to learn, it is for them, a place of consistency, security, and beauty.

School is important to the children within this low income diverse community. The children love to come to school everyday with enthusiasm and excitement. But, the most important thing I can say about the children at my school, is that they are resilient.

My Project

As a teacher of young minds, its my job and responsibility to keep my students engaged during our mini lessons and read alouds. Throughout the day the majority of teaching takes place in the meeting area. A large clear whiteboard easel is essential to carry out a lesson. It is important that all the children, no matter where they sit , are able to see what I am reading or writing.

Children love to teach each other.

This easel will also make a great addition during "play" center time. The children love to play teacher and a large whiteboard easel will allow for great play and reinforcement of the day's lessons. An easel will enhance my lessons and will also bring great joy to my children.
