This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching in a high poverty/low-income school, my students are faced with several challenges outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, my students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are bright, ambitious and eager learners.

Even though it has become extremely difficult, and sometimes frustrating, to educate without needed supplies, our students still come to school eager to learn. Our school rarely has extra funding for enriching material, and if they do, the funds are used for older students. Many of my students' families will never have additional money to purchase educational materials; therefore, I hope to be able to provide a fun and interesting way of learning so my students can succeed in life.

My Project

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." -Albert Einstein. My goal is to make this quote come alive in my classroom by allowing my students to open their minds and investigate the outside world. As the weather is getting warmer, they are very interested in the life cycles of a bug, how plants grow, and how certain machines function. The paper, clip boards, crayons, and colorful pens I am requesting will help create a science center in our classroom and allow my students to go outside and investigate!

My students will explore scientific things, take notes or drawings and then re-create their own interpretations of how things grow, live and work.

Your generous donation will provide my students with disabilities the extra support they need to become creative and open their minds to investigate the outside world.

The students are already putting forth the extra effort it takes to be an investigator, but I must provide them with the resources they need to achieve their goals.
