This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are inquisitive, eager young learners. Ranging from 5 to 6 years old, they are natives of the Caribbean Islands, Central America, and South America. My students have a pulsating thirst for gaining new skills and knowledge. They put 101% effort into all of their work, even when confronted with obstacles. When confronted with a challenge, class 1-2 likes to say it is “coo-coo bananas,” and tackle it as a united front. With every success, no matter how big or small, the students “kiss their brains” and “hug their hearts” for a job well done.
My Project
My school is well-funded with text books and resource books that my students use for reading, writing, math, social studies, and science on a daily basis.
Seat sacks and book baggies will build organization in our classroom and allow for my students to be held accountable for their educational and personal belongings.
I will implement sand timers for each table to help guide my students in completing tasks on time. These materials will help teach them independence and responsibility, which are essential life skills. The five-minute sand timers will also be used during group work and games to support socialization and self-monitoring sills.
This project consists of elements of organization and independence. My students will thrive in an environment that is clutter-free and easily accessible, which the book baggies and sacks will provide. Visual and tangible aids such as sand timers will give my students hands-on reminders they need to perform their best at school. Please consider supporting my students’ achievement through this project!
