Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at our school are amazing. We are one of the top Title I schools in our county, scoring an A or B for the last 10+ consecutive years. Our students and parents highly value education and it shows in all our students achieve.
Our student population is composed of 87% Hispanic students, 2.6% African-American students, and 1.2% Asian students.
The majority of our students originate from Spanish-speaking countries, primarily Cuba. 91.3% of our students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.
Our school environment is one where students feel safe, valued, and cared for. We pride ourselves on making our students feel at home away from home.
My Project
My students are all extremely hard workers, but some of them have an extremely difficult time staying focused in class. I have tried many different methods, but they have not been successful in allowing the students the ability to focus for extended periods of time without constant reminders by myself. Sometimes even other students step up to help out a classmate, but this can easily become more a disruption than help. By providing my students with the REVIBE watch it will allow them to refocus without verbally being told to do so.
The REVIBE watch will not only help in redirecting students with attention deficits to focus, but it will also help them feel more independent as they won't need a constant reminder from an adult in the room.
This tool will provide my students with so many benefits, one of which is they will be able to keep up with the rest of the class and won't feel like they are playing a game of perpetual catch-up. It will also help the other students not end up being distracted by off task classmates.
This simple watch could make a world of difference for those students that become overwhelmed by even the smallest distractions. Your donation could help bring success in academics to those who struggle.
