Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are amazing. They are respectful, responsible, and kind.

They are in every essence "my kids."

My students are from Flint, MI. The majority come from low income families and are at risk students. They have reached the 'make or break' age where their lives can be affected by the choices they make. My students come to school everyday with smiles on their faces to learn and to be loved. Everything I do, I do it for them out of love. I want to make sure they are receiving the BEST education possible from me this year. YOU help me make that possible by supporting my classroom and my amazing students!

My Project

I have been a middle school teacher for the past 3 years and LOVE every minute of it! I teach 100 amazing kiddos with 4 classes of 25 each. Making a seating chart with 25 desks is always so challenging depending on who works best with whom or who is having behavior issues with whom.

Trying to come up with a functional and manageable seating arrangement for a classroom where I am limited in space presents a challenge.

I have decided to ditch the desks and switch to tables!! These tables will promote collaboration, team building, positive relationships & more! Help me and my middle school students DITCH OUR DESKS!!
