My Students

My students come from very diverse backgrounds. We are a rural school outside of a growing city. Our students deal with many issues and bring so much to our school. It can be challenging to teach students who are so different, but it is beautiful as well. We all learn different things from each other as our classrooms are safe and nurturing environments. I have learned so much about myself as well as my students. We are all lifelong learners.

My Project

We have a lot of intense sensory seeking needs in our PreK ESE Classrooms. We have some equipment that helps (stairs, trampoline, etc.) but, we really need one especially useful tool in our rooms, it is known as a crash pad. This allows our sensory seeking crashers to have a location where they can just crash- safely one at a time! This allows them to get their sensory needs met in a very safe way and they also have a fun. This tool would be so helpful for our students.
