Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Take middle school students all over the world (past, present, and future). Help me unlock their wild imaginations and talents.
I teach in a middle school in New Mexico.
I don't want to keep my students there. I want them to feel like they're entering a time machine when they enter our classroom. I want to open all possible doors for them to learn. I'm trying to foster a thirst for knowledge that will last forever.
My Project
I will use all of the Social Studies books to escape from our traditional textbook. I have requested several books that will help me use a variety of teaching styles. These books will allow me to meet all of the diverse needs in my class. I want my Social Studies classes to become project-based, and these books are essential for this goal.
The digital camera will be used in a variety of ways. It will be used to post students' projects on our website. Students will use it on scavenger hunts, and in many multi-literacy projects. For example, they will be creating Smartboard presentations.
I teach a large population of students.
They range from special needs (intense support) to gifted. My project will give all of them enrichment in Social Studies. I want to use today's technology to unlock the mysteries of the past.
