My Students

My students are driven, curious, and getting ready for college and awesome careers. An eagerness to learn and good humor leads to energy and enjoyment most of the time, most days. All of my classes are embracing the learning of US History and Contemporary Issues through hands-on activities, discussions, debates, and group work that push them to be 21st-century workforce-ready.

My students are salt-of-the-earth individuals with a strong sense of community and a knowledge of how important education is.

If these are the people who will be leading Connecticut and America in the future, who will be solving social, political, and economic issues, then we are in good hands.

My Project

Students will be able to create digital timelines that will cover the full length and breadth of our US History course. Too often, learning history is chopped up into pieces and students do not fully understand cause and effect through time.

These digital timelines will give students a powerful sense of continuity and change, as well as important events and individuals in US History.

The comparative study of global, historical caste systems will allow me to more powerful teach tolerance and racial awareness at a time when this could not be more important or relevant.
