My Students

Our children are our only hope for the future, but we are their only hope for their present and their future.--Zig Ziglar. By giving our children a good education and teaching them to love learning, we are giving them a bright future.

My students come from a small rural community in Utah where a high percentage is Hispanic.

Our school is a small elementary school where most of the students receive free or reduced lunch because of the high poverty level. My students are all eager to learn and deserve the same education as students who attend schools in more affluent areas.

My Project

My students need to read the Time for Kids magazine issues to keep them informed on current events and to help them practice reading nonfiction material. It will also help to increase their reading fluency and comprehension. This project will bring my students current events in a way that they can understand and enjoy. The students will also benefit from meaningful class discussions about important current issues.

Time for Kids magazine is such a valuable teaching resource.

Students are naturally more interested in current events which helps them get excited about learning. Your donation to this project will help my students become better readers and more educated citizens of our country.
