I am a second grade teacher at a rural school in North Carolina. We are a Title I school which means that we have a high percentage of free and reduced lunch. The class which I teach consists of children that are below grade level in one or more academic areas. I have found that EVERY minute counts. the material needs to fun and engaging. That is why I am asking for a class set of Time for Kids Magazine. It is a weekly publication that incorporates current events and really motivates the students to read. It is the best, most interesting non-fiction text available. It helps so much with math and science as well as social studies. Each edition comes with a teachers guide and student activity pages. This is a wonderful way for the students to use their math and science skills in a hands on and engaging way! Each edition has incredible photos and tells them about children and places from different countries that they might not have ever heard about before. This is such a wonderful opportunity to help a class full of eager students! Thank you so much for helping teachers teach our future!
