This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have not have the opportunity to travel near and far, but Time for Kids Magazine brings the world to them. The magazine is so engaging that the kids cheer when the new issue arrives. This year they learned so much from the articles and accompanying lessons.

I work in a Title One school.

My students are all Second Language Learners and come from low income homes. They are highly motivated, enthusiastic and curious. Because they don't have many resources at home, my students are extremely excited an appreciative about our classroom materials. When we have had magazine subscriptions in the past, they have eagerly awaited the arrival of the new issue.

My Project

The students will learn so much from a weekly subscription to Time for Kids. Not only are the articles extremely engaging and relevant, they are connected to a fantastic website and fabulous Common Core lessons. My students will learn about current events while improving their literacy, English language ability, vocabulary, and writing.

My classroom will greatly benefit from the weekly magazine and the resources connected to it.

I know from past experience that after a year of engaging with the information found in Time for Kids, students grow by leaps and bounds!
