My students need Time for Kids Magazines to enhance social studies skills and learning. Time for Kids Magazines will also encourage reading in small group, with partners, or aloud to others!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Szady's classroom raised $159

My Students
I teach in a Title I school where more than half of the students are from low income families with both parents working long hours. This means that, many times, parents just don't have the extra time to support their children's education at home, but they do the best they can, and it shows with our families.
"I can do it!"
That is the excitement I get to hear when my students learn something new, whether it is learning new words or beginning to read chapter books, mastering a new math skill or exploring a science topic.
My students enter with various levels of 1st grade readiness and spend so much time working together to learn and build each other up to become successful!
My Project
These Time for Kids Magazines will enhance social studies skills within my classroom. Students will learn about the world around them, community information, and history topics. The class will benefit from these magazines during partner work, small group activities, and read aloud within the class.
Working together to read about real life topics helps to create a larger sense of community and respect.
These magazines will be used weekly during our reading block to help supplement our social studies curriculum, while encouraging teamwork and respect among students. We will share in class discussions that students will be able to take home and discuss with their families!
More than half of students from low‑income households
