My students need a subscription to TIME for Kids magazine to stay up to date on current events.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Ely's classroom raised $298

My Students
Loving, caring, passionate about learning...these are just a few words that describe my amazing fourth graders. These children have a passion for life and a love for the world they live in. They are always first to lend a hand or encourage a classmate.
At first glance you would never guess the struggles these students have been through.
All of my students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch, and many even get weekend food supplies sent home. Many come from single parent homes, or even a two parent home where mom and dad are working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet. They help take care of younger siblings and cousins. These students are way more than your average fourth grader.
My Project
This magazine subscription will allow my students the opportunity to learn about the world around them. Many of the students I teach rarely get the chance to leave the city they are growing up in. As a result, they need exposure to different places in the world, and opportunities to learn about different cultures and people.
Part of my job as a teacher is to help my students become global citizens.
This magazine subscription would give my class the chance to visit places and people without leaving the classroom. Each magazine would be like a virtual field trip and be engaging to the students. The texts in the magazines are engaging and interesting.
Additionally, the online component of the subscription would give students the chance to learn about online resources and the opportunity to use technology in an effective, engaging way.
