My Students

I teach at a Title 1 high school near Fort Bragg, NC. My students are fantastic and the school has a lot of pride! Our school district is in a high poverty area where resources and supplies are stretched thin.

My students have a right to the same education as others but are struggling due to the lack of necessary resources and supplies.

Many of my students are visual learners, and hands-on activities allow them to easily understand, comprehend, and apply the content knowledge they are obtaining from my class.

My Project

My physical science and chemistry students require the use of labs to fully solidify and understand difficult topics. Analytical balances and stopwatches will help facilitate accurate and precise lab activities.

With analytical balances, they will be able to record more accurate measurements and work with significant figures through their calculations.

The stopwatches will help them time the lab activities and, again, have more accurate data to report.

Right now, students have to use their cell phone stopwatches, which causes distractions and takes away from the safety of the lab. Safety, accuracy, and learning are the top priorities in our lab!
