This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a second grade teacher in a high needs school in Washington Heights, New York. I am always trying to find ways to motivate and inspire my students and I believe that with subscriptions to Time for Kids and Weekly Reader, I can do just that.
I hope to incorporate the magazines in all curriculum areas, especially science and social studies.
The magazines will provide my students with the opportunity to read nonfiction through magazines, and help them understand that reading and learning can be accomplished through various means.
I am excited to receive these subscriptions and utilize them with my class. They will definitely enrich my students' learning experiences.
