My Students
Today's classrooms have certainly changed in the past year, we went from in-person school, to remote, to hybrid learning. I want my students to come back in the fall to the normal, where we are hands-on, learning in groups, with the laughing and learning.
My students love to learn hands-on, they are well-behaved and love to play games that promote learning.
They are also really starting to enjoy reading.
They attend a school that has a very diverse population, many of these students are free and reduced lunch children. Most of my students come from single-parent homes, in which the parents work second and third shifts.
My Project
Phonics begins at an early age, and in a first-grade classroom, a phonics program that provides structure and enrichment is key to having a successful way to learn how to read.
In any classroom, the use of visuals to help enhance what the students are learning is crucial.
My students need letter tiles so that they can manipulate the sounds that words make with hands-on experiences while doing phonemic and phonics awareness. These are items that my students need to help with my literacy instruction that will enhance and challenge what they already know.
