My Students
My school in southern Mississippi in a community devastated by Hurricane Katrina. While finances are not abundant, you won't find a better group of loving people full of southern hospitality!
My students are ready and willing to be challenged to be top-notch global citizens!
They want to take their strong sense of community into the world and break the chains of poverty by attending college. They exhibit grit and passion daily, and I am so proud to be their teacher.
My Project
When we are clean, we feel better about ourselves and can focus on achieving what we need to do. Unfortunately, this is something many of us take for granted and there are students who don't have the supplies they need to be clean and feel good about themselves. This is why our school is starting a "Tender Love & Care" closet - to give students what they need.
My students deserve to focus on their education not to worry about their hygiene.
Having easy, constant access to supplies like feminine products and deodorant will ensure that students at my school have one less obstacle to educational success!
