I am teaching third and fourth grade students about computers, software, technology, programming, and coding. I manage a STEM lab where students are learning lifelong skills and critical thinking. They are excited to get back to school after this long COVID-19 break. I want them to have the best possible learning experience despite all the adult concerns.
My Project
Our lab is a workspace. Some of the requested materials are to assist in cleanliness, organization, and safety. As students arrive in the STEM lab, a "doctor" gives out the hand sanitizer. The "supplies distribution coordinators" hand out the materials from the individual hooks while wearing gloves. Each student receives a bag with their dry erase marker, eraser, earbuds, and login information. We will follow this procedure daily.
The books will enhance the STEM lab for students.
The books all relate to technology and coding. Believe it or not, students do not always want to be at a computer. They look forward to storytimes, too. I can also refer early finishers to the classroom library for enrichment.
My students will be able to thrive in our STEM lab with these new materials. I want all of my students to succeed. Therefore, I humbly request the funding of my project.
