My students need 25 dry erase boards with musical staff on them to give them a hands-on experience to make their own music. We also need a large white board with musical staff as their example to lead them towards coming up with creative ideas in our classroom.

My classroom is in a low income community with a large population of kids just looking for someone to show an interest in their lives and special talents. The ages at our school range from third grade to fifth grade. This age is PERFECT for developing a desire for the arts by catching their attention and relating it to things they understand and know in their everyday life.

These students express to me daily how much they love to learn new songs. I know that offered the opportunity to create their own music and understand how to do it on their own, many of the students will become hooked on music the rest of their lives.

As a beginning, I would like to be able to put a musical dry erase board in their hands so that they can begin to learn the basics of writing music. I will give them examples on the large board and share with them the worlds they can open to themselves by learning to write their own music. We will need 25 students music staff boards and one large example board.

Your help can make the difference to the students at my school. It is my goal to give them as many chances as I can while they are still at this impressionable age. I know that with these new boards, many of them will unlock a talent that they never knew they had!! Thank you so much!
