I am very lucky to have 21 learners in my first grade classroom. My students come from very diverse backgrounds and over half of my class is bilingual. My students are thoughtful, kind and caring individuals who are very eager to learn. My students love coming to school and we work hard on reading, math, writing, science and social studies! Exploring and working with hands-on projects is our favorite way to learn. I am hoping that my students continue to show a love and passion for learning.
My Project
The first graders at our have been working extremely hard this year and we want to give them a memorable end of the year celebration! We see this as a great community building opportunity. It will "TIE" into our social emotional curriculum of building lasting relationships with each other. The first grade team plans to have an outdoor tie-dye celebration during the last week of school. Students will work on preparing the materials and designing their shirt. Once these shirts have dried, we will have an autograph party for the students to sign each others shirts. What a fun way to end the school year!
