My Project
We believe that it's very important for our 6th graders to demonstrate leadership skills as being the oldest students in our school. From the start of the year, teachers emphasize how much younger students look up to them and want to be like them. They are seen as the role models of the school and practicing how to communicate with students of all ages, not just their peers, is an important life skill. To support their learning and growing efforts, the 6th graders have 2nd grade reading buddies.
The tie dye kits will help with our final reading buddy activity for the year as they work together to create a beautiful t-shirt as a memory.
We have done this activity together for the last few years, and it has always been a wonderful time to see their laughing and smiles as they decorate their shirts. The 6th graders lead the way and assist their buddy to create their shirt, while they create their own afterwards. We then wear our shirts all together on one of the final days and take some pictures together.
We appreciate the love and support to obtain these kits as it can be very costly. Thank you for your support for one of our final activities of the year!
