My Project
Young kids love to get their hands dirty! Especially for active students full of creativity, they really like hands-on activities. With this fun tie dye activity, kids can create one-of-a-kind creative design t-shirts in class.
Tie-dye activity encourage students to reuse and recycle old articles of clothing to create a new colorful masterpiece.
Tie-dye activity also helps students learn about fractions, shapes, patterns and color mixing. Students need to fold, spin or roll the t-shirt in a desired shapes to create the tie-dye patterns they wanted. Then, students utilize the concept of fractions to use rubber bands to wrap the t-shirt into sections. Last, students choose colors to apply on the t-shirt to create their colorful patterns. Students would be thrilled to wear their tie-dye creation in school. This would be an excellent activity for students to learn about math and science through arts. Students also learn the importance of reusing old materials to protect our environment!
