Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures and countries. They range from general education, special education and ESL students who are just learning the English language. My students have some of the most beautiful souls and often help fellow classmates that are struggling.
I believe that every single student has purpose in my classroom and can be successful.
As their teacher I always try to find a way to boost my students' self esteem, practice what it means to truly love yourself, be accepting of others and find a love for Science.
My Project
An issue many of my students face is getting sick during the school year. My students understand the importance of being present in class and how hard it is to catch up when they are out. Often times they enter my class with the signs and symptoms of illnesses but choose to stay in school so they do not miss anything. I need help in keeping my classroom clean for my students and myself.
Benjamin Disraeli said, " Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct they are matters of education, and like most great things, you must cultivate a taste for them." I would like to show my students what goes into keeping our classroom clean and the proper steps and procedures we need to follow.
My students understand the cleaning process and steps to stop the spread of illnesses, but we need more supplies to make sure the classroom is clean and germ free. Having items like lysol wipes, hand sanitizer and tissues can help ensure my students are cleaning up after themselves and keeping their fellow classmates safe from colds and the flu.
