This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kids know physics. They can predict outcomes and apply their understanding. They know it implicitly and my students can make things work, but, sometimes that "I just know it" is hard to describe and even harder to quantify. With Spark Timers from United Scientific, we can make the intangible, tangible.
Distance, time, speed, acceleration, and force are all basics of Newtonian Physics, and Spark Timers make them visible and measurable.
With these devices, we will be able to explore the connections between these concepts and practice our skills with measurement to collect data, organize it, analyze it, and come to a place where we can explain what everyone takes as "common knowledge" with evidence to support and illustrate the claims.
