TI-82's No More!

My students need up-to-date TI-84 Plus Graphing calculators to ensure the proper level of learning in both Algebra 2 and Trigonometry.

My Students

Most of my students come from homes where purchasing a 100 dollar graphing calculator is not an option. We currently have 16 TI-82 calculators that the district had purchased years ago. However, they drain batteries, they are dying off left and right, and the students struggle to even see the screen at times.

I anticipate that a good number of my students will be sent off to college within the next year or so, and I want to be able to prepare them the best I can.

They are a great group of kids and deserve the most reliable and up to date technology feasible.

My Project

My students are in great need of new graphing calculators. We have had TI-82's since I first started teaching here, and each year I find myself replacing the batteries nonstop, while working around each and every glitch. Some of them have lines running through the screen, but it's all we have to work with and the district does not currently have the funds to buy new ones.

I'm afraid that if I don't try to do something now my students will be attempting Trigonometry and Algebra 2 without a calculator, putting them at a huge disadvantage.

My students deserve the same opportunities, resources, and technology as those in every other district, and having these TI-84 Plus Graphing calculators in the classroom would make that possible. Thank you!
