This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students work best when they are working hands-on. My class consists of special education students who have a variety of learning abilities and needs. They love working in the small garden we planted at the beginning of the school year, even though we have been working with very little tools and materials. My goal is to grow our garden as well as our gardening experience.
By enhancing our garden, my students will continue to improve in community building, communication skills, responsibility, and caring for the environment.
Please know that your donation will help us improve our garden. We need the tools to continue to plant new fruits and vegetables and harvest them when ready. We also need a place to store our tools. The bench we intend to purchase will serve as a storage area as well as give students a spot to sit on while learning and enjoying the garden.
