My students need laptops for easy access to computer programs that help with their reading, math and science skills. They are also in need of headphones, pencils, and ink for our printer.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are some of the brightest third graders you will ever meet. They have a true passion for reading, math and science. Their young minds are thirsting for knowledge and it is truly exciting to be a part of their learning process.
Unfortunately, they come from low income homes where their parents struggle to help with homework and projects due to their limited English proficiency.
Our school is a Title I school that tries to provide all that is needed to help our students but due to budget cuts, it becomes very difficult to do so. I usually find myself trying to come up with creative ways to pay for the materials needed for class projects. More than 95% of our school is on free or reduced price lunch. These families struggle financially.
My Project
These laptops and headphones will make a world of a difference in our technology driven world. This year, my students will be taking their state assessment (FSA) on the computer. It will be the first time that our grade level will be assessed in this manner. Therefore, it is my job to not only prepare them and teach them the math standards, but I must also prepare them for the computer based format.
Technology is essential to the way our students are learning and we must provide it in our classrooms if, we want to prepare them for the future.
Ink is needed for our classroom printer for daily printing classroom needs.
