My Students

My students inspire me each day. My 2nd graders are creative, sweet, and inquisitive. These students are a diverse group of learners. We are a public school in an urban community where all of the students receive either free or reduced lunch. This year I will be teaching in an inclusion classroom.

My students' desire and love of learning always pushes me to grow as a teacher.

I can't wait to be back together again in the classroom making memories.

My Project

This year has certainly not been easy for any of us but, it has been especially challenging for children. My students are experiencing a lot right now and may not know how to process their feelings.

These books will help give my students a voice and realize that they are not alone in how they feel.

These stories will be used as read alouds for my students to help with their social and emotional needs. In the beginning of the year, I will use these books during virtual learning. Later on this year, these titles will also be placed in my classroom library where students can access the books they want to read.
