My Project
Our school is among the top 1% of diverse schools in the nation and their reading tastes reflect this diversity. They are fascinated with other cultures; thus, we can't keep Manga on the shelf! After the book fair, Haikyuu has become the most requested title and we don't have any of the 45 volumes currently published!
Manga gets kids reading while exposing them to another world.
Throw in the sports focus and extra reluctant readers can't help but be drawn in.
Exciting students about reading is increasingly difficult as they reach middle school, when so many other types of media provide more enticing avenues of entertainment. If we give them what they want to read, though, we are winning at least part of the battle. Thank you!
