This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with 9th grade creative scholars that aspire to go into the field of art or engineering. I want to use their interests to have a fun and engaging activity to welcome them to high school.
Starting high school can be a stressful time that fills students with anxiety and I want to alleviate that as much as possible.
With the resources from this project, students will be able to introduce themselves to their classmates and build community. Students will all receive a poster in which they have to write or draw facts about themselves using the markers provided. I will use the film to take pictures of each individual student to add to their posters. Once the posters are complete, students will present their posters and then they will be displayed on the classroom walls.
Thank you for helping me build community in my classroom and to provide an engaging welcoming activity for my scholars.
