This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Bowling is a lifelong activity for students of all abilities! As an Adapted PE teacher, bowling is an amazing game when taught with appropriate equipment. This year, I have multiple students who are in wheelchairs and do not have access to equal equipment for bowling. My students have learned to try their best given any circumstance, and they attempt to bowl with the class; however, it is difficult for them to succeed without the aid of a ramp. It is hard for them to throw the ball with force and accuracy due to the physical limitation of them being in their wheelchair. With the simple accommodation of a ramp, students in wheelchairs can participate alongside grade-level peers in physical education. Thus, making bowling a fun and equal game for all.
