Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our initiative, "EmpowerGarden," seeks your support to revolutionize education for students with disabilities through a unique organic gardening class that integrates lessons on food and environmental justice. We envision a program where students with disabilities not only build planter boxes for an edible school yard but go on to learn the delicious cooking lifeskills while also engaging in meaningful discussions about the interconnectedness of food, the environment, and social justice.
