Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our small school in a big city is becoming more and more diverse. Even though more than half of our students are Hispanic, the entire population of our school represents a wide array of cultures, viewpoints, social class, genders, and abilities. Books that reflect this diversity and promote inclusivity are becoming more important than ever.

Books offer our students the opportunity to learn more about themselves and the world.

Through this set of diverse books, all of our students can feel seen themselves and also learn to see others more empathetically. Our school library collection is available to every student now and in the future, so this project will have a lasting impact.
