Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This and that. That is what my students need to get through the rest of the school year.

My students are minority students, English Language Learners and 98% qualify for free or reduced lunch.

From these statistics you would think that I have a difficult class to teach yet my students are an amazing group of kids. They come to school so excited about learning and ready to succeed.

My Project

I recently had a pack of Ticonderoga brand pencils donated to my class. I had never thought much about the type of pencils I used in the past, but these blew me away. They actually sharpen without going down to nubs. The lead holds a point and doesn't easily break. Having these pencils will be a lifesaver in the classroom. My students also need 2 pocket portfolios to keep their work in. Unfortunately, the portfolios only using last one quarter. We are in desperate need of a refurbishment of their current folders. Finally, we have an empty terrarium that has been donated to the class. The students would love to have a gecko to fill it. In addition, I have requested several accessories to make the cage more "homey" for our new pet.

It's the little things that help students make it through the day.

New pencils, folders, and a class pet might not seem like much, but it would make a world of difference to my students. Please help us fund the "this and that" that we need for the room.
