This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This school year I will be teaching Spanish 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders. Students are bright, caring, and driven but as young teenagers some students require incentives to build interest in the subject matter.

I aspire to provide my students the little things that make a big difference.

However, budget constraints can severely limit this. I ask for any and all help from supplies, authentic equipment and anything in between to help jump start my third year and give these kids the experiences that will help them succeed in my class and in the future.

My Project

I am coming back for a third year to apply my knowledge, skills and teach Spanish to students. Through my last two years as a teacher I realized that my students would love some extra tools in the classroom to have a little fun while learning.

Through various games, authentic equipment, and basic material I know my students will be "Successful" while having "Fun.”

A lot of the material I requested is for student use on a day to day basis.

For example, my kids once a week work on an art projects and markers, construction paper, and scissors are essential for them to create amazing art work.

On many occasions, I also tend to run out of white board space. So I am requesting a whiteboard to have essential information for them to see and work with. And with whiteboards come white board markers. So I am requesting many markers to use throughout the year.

Also, I tend to have many activities where my students compete in teams and each other and I like to treat them with a small treat (candy) for their amazing job! Kids love this!

Most importantly, I have requested some posters that will be put around the classroom with essential conjugations when learning the Spanish language.

Overall I have chosen items that I believe will get me the biggest bang and positive outcome. Items that will allow my students to have have no setbacks. I will have students speaking Spanish to each other—and having fun while they do it!
