Third Graders Wish For a Magic Carpet

My students need a classroom carpet for read-alouds, presentations, and class meetings.

I teach inquisitive third graders at a public elementary school. Our overarching goal is to act respectfully, do our best, and be as curious as possible!

Third graders are well on their way to becoming independent learners, but much of the school year involves listening, thinking, and exploring together as a class. Moving away from our desks and sharing a smaller learning space is ideal for literacy time. We enhance subjects like science and social studies by exploring picture-filled non-fiction books which spur class discussions. Our classroom has tile flooring, which makes for a rather cold and uncomfortable seat.

My students need a classroom rug. Having a comfy place to sit would improve focus and attentiveness when we break free from our seats and gather together for different learning adventures. The rug would be used for a number of different activities as well, like independent reading and time spent with reading buddies.
