I teach third grade at an overcrowded Title 1 school where 100 percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My class is very excited at the prospect of seeing Africa and its animals via the Bronx Zoo. The zoo is offering two outrageous classes for my students. Through this unique interdisciplinary experience, my students will be able to explore in depth the habitats and endangered wildlife of Africa. They will have the opportunity to closely observe the habitat and distinguishing characteristics of African animals such as gorillas and baboons. These classes allow the kids to study exotic animals up close and personal and also to engage in a study of the environment within the continent of Africa. Please give my students this experience.
