Help me give my students a fun and engaging way for them to immerse themselves into nonfiction. These Scholastic magazines will supplement our curriculum with real time passages that will enrich their education.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that my students have grown as readers. I would love to continue seeing growth in their reading skills as well as develop an appreciation for reading. In order for anybody to develop an appreciation for reading they must be exposed to all genres and passages that are relevant to them. I strongly believe that these Scholastic magazines will provide the exposure and relevance my students need to appreciate non-fiction.
Not only will these magazines increase engagement but they will also enrich my students education by touching on topics that we rarely have time to cover in class.
They will promote critical thinking skills as well as build up their vocabulary. These magazines will provide more exposure to nonfiction text features. I can't wait to implement these magazines in my classroom and see my students: develop an appreciation for nonfiction, learn about new topics, and recognize nonfiction text features.
