Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students see school as a safe place and come each day ready to learn. All students at our school qualify for free or a reduced price lunch plan and strive to make the most of each day, despite the challenges they may be facing at home.
My class loves challenging themselves through new math concepts, especially through the use of hands-on manipulative tools.
My students want to go deeper in these foundational skills than the district curriculum can offer them and utilize their creative and explorative nature during math time.
My Project
By providing my students with these hands-on tools, I will be able to reach every learning style present in my classroom. My students learn more by doing rather than simply completing the math work supplied by the district.
These manipulatives will help my students utilize their natural explorative skills during math time.
These materials will also allow me to have smaller stations throughout the classroom so that my students are able to gain a deeper understanding of these foundational math skills.
I will also be able to use the privacy partitions to help establish positive test taking experiences with my students so that they are mentally prepared for the state-wide testing in the Spring.
